number and the remainder of the af
ternoon was devoted to cards.
Prize at pivot auction was award
ed Mrs. Nutting, contract prize went
to Mrs Joe Clark, pivot auction to
Mrs. Hal Piatt and the 500 prize o
Mrs. Corura.
Wenonan Club Plans
Card Party for Friday
Members of Wenonan club will en
tertain with a card party at Redman
hall Friday. April 21. to which the
public Is Invited. The committee for
the evening Is composed of Mrs. Mat
tie Unman and Mrs. Maude Abbott.
A small admission fee will be charged
and refreshments will be served fol
lowing cards.
Owing to the card party the regular
moet.ng of Pocahontas lodge has been
called for 7:30 o'clock.
R. D. Bullocks Arrive
Word has been received by W. R.
Bullock of this city anonunclng that
his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. B. D. Bullock, have arrived In
Hong Kong. China. Mr. Bullock is
remembered by many friends here,
where he attended school and later
worked as telegraph operator. After
leaving Medford he made his home
In Yakima, Wash., for several years,
and recently sailed from the north
with Mrs. Bullock to enter Full Gos
pel missionary work In China.
Miss Ooff Active in
Amphibian Club Affairs
Miss Dorothy Goff of this city and
Miss Beth Simmervllle, former well
known southern Oregon miss, were
among University of Oregon students
playing a prominent part in the pres
entation of scenes from "Once in
Miami" by the Amphibian club at the
university pool last evening. Miss
Simmervllle olaved the role of heroine
In the production and Miss Goff was
a member of the decorations com
mittee for the production.

Plan for Food Sale

Medford to Join in
1933 Bridge Olympic.
May 1 Medford, with the rest ot
the world, will go bridge minded and
enter the third world Olympic, it
was announced yesterday by Mrs. Gus
Newbury, well known local bridge ex
pert and connoisseur of contract. Mrs.
Newbury has arranged for Medford
bridge players to .enter the contest
and an eight-table game will be In
play at the Hotel Medford May 1.
Hands sent out from the New York
studio, to be played all over the world,
will be played here and participants
will be eligible for national and local
prizes. ' '
Further details regarding the local
game will be announced at an early
date, and bridge fans are advised to
start practicing.
Senior Reception
Erent for Friday.
The senior reception is to be held
In the high school gymnasium at 8:30
o'clock Friday and will be Informal
in nature so that all Junior and senior
students will be able to attend. All
parents are cordially Invited. Ad
mission Is to be by ticket only and
according to the following regulations.
Students are to be admitted by
student body tickets or senior recep
tion tickets, which are being Issued
this week. Alumni must obtain
tickets for admission by 3:30 Friday.
No tickets will be sold at the door
The doors close for admittance
promptly at 0:30 after which time
only parents will be admitted to the
building.

rine entertained Saturday with a
children's Easter party for her young
granddaughter, Gwen Marine. There
was an egg hunt and lively games for
the pnjoyment of the youngsters, fol
lowed by refreshments of Ice cream,
cakes, chocolate and attractive Easter
favors. Those present were: Georgetta
MoClean, Avrill Welt, Lattice Welt.

Changes Meeting.
The Dramatic Club will not meet
meet this evening at the Y. W. C. A.
but one week from tonight, it was
announced this morning. The change
was made because of the inability
of Mrs. Hamilton Patton to meet
with .the group.

Altar society will be held Friday after
noon instead of Tuesday, it was an

Valley Community club. The club
members are planning some needed
improvements and this will go to
help fill the treasury. Committees
