some time where he underwent a
major operation, has returned home
to Blackwell hill.
Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Johnson and
children, who have been living out
by old Gold Hill, moved to Medford
M. B. Merrlman was taken to the
Veterans' hospital In Portland Thurs
day after suffering from a severe
hemorrhage that morning.
Mrs. Tony Ross has been quite stek
at her home here.

tin, Mra. Carrie Puhl, Mrs. Belle

structing a sno.ooo brewery In Port
land. Is announced through the Port
land Chamber of Commerce by James
E. Edmlston, president of the new
concern.
The plant, Edmlston said, will have
a capacity of 100,000 barrels a year
and will be so built and laid out as
to lend to doubling of capacity with
out great additional expense. The
plant Itself, he explained, will em
ploy 50 persons at the start, and there
will be salesmen, delivery workers
and others, in addition. The com
pany expects to do a national and
export business, as well as serve deal
