Eddie Cantor In "The Kid from
Spain" had to assume Importance as
a production pretty much In the
same way that a skyscraper takes
on height and size. The big screen
musical comedy that brings the
beady-eyed comic In company with
Lyda Robertl and the famous Gold
wyn Girls to the Fox Craterian
theatre today, Is the work of many
hands and minds.
Two years ago, Eddie Cantor and
his boss, Samuel Goldwyn, talked
over the Idea of having a story in
which Eddie would appear as the
pop-eyed Jewish brat from Brook
lyn who grew up to become the
world's greatest bullfighter. Vague
ly, it had some foundation in the
career of Sidney Franklin.

W. C. T. U. medal contest will be

with five contestants taking part. It
was announced yesterday.
