that held Friday afternoon at the

The Sunny Bisters of the Presby
terian church met Tuesday afternoon
at the home of Mrs. W. 8. GUmore
on North Orange and elected the fol
lowing officers for the new year: Mrs.
Ralph Sweeney, president: Mrs. Maude
West, vice-president; Mrs. Laura M
West, secretary-treasurer. Mrs. Swee
ney, who served as president for the
past year, was the unanimous choice
for thla year.
Devotion als were led by Mrs. Car
penter, followed by the circle re
peating in unison the 33rd psalm.
The major portion of the afternoon
was devoted to sewing for the Red
Cross. There was a large attendance
present, with Mrs. Wm. Howell, wife
of the pastor, guest of honor.

Enjoy Dinner
The regular meeting on March 10
of the Daughters of Union Veterans
was postponed until March 19, when
Mrs. Annie S. Warren of Portland,
department president, made her offi
cial visit to the tent. A preliminary
of the buslneM session was a dell
clous dinner served by Mrs. Guyer
and her committee, Mesdames 8c hade.

Scheffel and Rowley, which was thor
oughly enjoyed. . The bualnea meet
ing was conducted by the tent presi
dent, Mrs. W- A. Rowley. During
the meeting the charter was draped
In memory of Mrs. Josephine Carey,
an early member of the order, who
died recently In Los Angeles. Mrs.
Warren's address was I nte renting and
the tent gained much Information
from It as welt as enjoying her witty
remarks. She was presented with a
corsage by Mrs. Schsde, the gtft of
Mrs. Rowley.
The meeting closed with resolu
tions expressing thanks to all who
mode it such a pleasant event.

At an eventful meeting Tuesday
evening Nevita Chapter, O. E. 8. of
Central Point entertained Mrs. Mo
nnle Hauser, associate grand matron
of the grand chapter of Oregon, and
guests from the various southern
chapters.
Mrs. Hauser gave to those who
were fortunate enough to hear her
lessons which were indeed Inspiring.
The Masonic hall was decorated
with ferns and flowers and during
the evening solos by Elsie Carlton
Strang, whistling numbers by Doro
thy Reynolds and readings by Gladys
Stewart were greatly enjoyed.
At the close of the chapter, Esther
Sanderson sang "The End of a Per
fect Day." At Vie conclusion of talks
by the various guests, refreshments
were served at an attractively ap
pointed table with centerpiece of daf.

Blackmore Willett announces she will
present her artist-student clsss in
two recitals. On Saturday evening,

Pass, and Tuesday evening, April 4.

The wonderful work put on by this
class last fall, both In Medford and
Grants Pass, hs -not been forgotten

a splendid array of talent will partici
pate. The Baldwin Piano Parlors, on
South Grape street managed by Mrs.
H. O. Purucker, are being enlarged
and a platform built for the big con
cert grand, which the Baldwin Piano
Co. is shipping here permanently.

favorite sons of Old Ireland, received

It was announced that the class
would participate In "a trip around
the world." an entertainment to be
given later In the month.

gave two readings which were very
much enjoyed. Games and contests
concluded the afternoon's entertainment.
