At a congregational meeting held
after the church service on Sunday,
March 13, the basin of membership in
the Phoenix Presbyterian church was
altered so that residents of the Phoe
nix community, upon presentation of

every way. It was a project conceived

account of the recent earthquake
from her brother, Carl Hanson, who
resides at Montlbello, Calif., nine
miles from the area most badly af
fected. He stated that when the
first shock came at 8:00 p. m., the
house rocked violently, cans fell to
the floor and the back yard aeemed
the most likoly place In which to
aeek safety. The ground aeemed to
rise about four Inches and settle
back.
