Patrolman, Charles Knapp and
his wife, Harriet Edna, are cn the
threshold of divorce because the
wife secretly adopted a baby boy to
deceive her husband. Both want to
keep the child, but Knapp assert,

filed auit for divorce, Mrs, Knapp

complicate the case the baby's

regain possession of him if ths

PASSES AGED 95
Lydla 1. Graves, lata of 220 North
Oakdale, passed away shortly before
noon today at the advanced age of
nearly 95 years.
She was born at Derby, vt June
8. 1B38, and was united in marriage
71 years ago to Byron D. Graves,
their marrisge taking place at usage.
Iowa,
Mrs. Graves apent many years of
her life at Yankton, S. D., where Mr.
Graves passed away 40 years ago. She
came with her children to Medford
in 1811 and had resided here for the
past 23 years.
She leaves four children: Mrs. Ida
E. Wood, Florence B. and Alva A.
Graves of Medford and Clarence B.
Graves of Lewlston Idaho.
Funeral arrangements will be an

Prank Hayward. director of the
"Medford Follies' the current stage
attraction at the Craterian tonight
and Thursday night, has performed a
miracle In local theatrical circles, ac
cording to those who were privileged
to watch the last minute rehearsals of
this big musical revue beJore Its pub
lie deout tonight.
Just one week ago today, Mr. Hay
ward arrived in Medford to start re
hearsals for the show, and with the
assistance of Miss Helen May, built
a complete one-hour production with
local people, many of whom have
never danced a step in their lives or
ever appeared In puhiie before.
Although the applicants were talcen
from all walks of life, and former
experience was not c-ne of the re
quirements, tihe financial production
promises to be one of the most fin
ished and professional performances
ever presented here with local talent.
The built of the ''Follies Is com
posed of local people, but a great
many outside entertainers are being
brought here to appear in the show.
The professionals who will appear, in
addition to Mr. Hayward and Miss
May, are Ted and Evelyn Schrader,
former Panchon-Marco headllners.
Then fehere art to be a number of
acts that have been chosen from their
respective cities to represent them
here. These are Miss Edwins James
and Harvey Oearhart of Ashland,
Miss Dorothy Burnett nad Barney
Mast of Yreka, Cal Miss Eleanor
Langenberg of Roseburg, and Kent
and Rosa Lou White of Grants Pass.
The musical arrangement of the show
will be played by Miss Qoldle Snyder.

Craterian Picture
Karloff and Edward VanSIoan are
making their second appearance to
gether, this ttmfe in s fantastic rein
carnatlon play. Universal "The
Mummy," which has Its local pre
miere today at the Craterian theater
with the Medford Forties on the same
bill. Both actors played in "Frank
enstein," the film which rocketed
Karloff to fame.
Strangely enough, both portray
roles in the oocuH Egyptian drama
similar to those in the previous
Sheiiy tale, Karloff again "comes to
life" in what ts said to be the most
spectacular scene of his career, while
VanSJoan again enacts the role of
scientist.
Two Die In Crash

FAIRBANKS, Alaska, Mar. 1, (m
Two men who sought to establish an
airplane fur trading system In Aiasktt
died yesterday in the crash of their
plane near Lake Minchumnla,
Mickey Goldstein, 48. and Ted Mor
ris, 33, who came here from Seattle,
the former as trader, the Utter as
pilot, were found dead in the debris
of, their plan by Pilot Harry Blunt
of Pacific Airways.

statement today the officers and

"keenly disappointed orer President

tary of labor."
The statement by Green came
after officials of the National League
of Women Voters, the Woman's Party
and other prominent women had
