ning at the Maaonlo hall. In the
afternoon a ceremonial waa held
with Supreme Queen L. Pearle M'j
Olellan of Albany, N. Y., aa honor
guest. Mra. MoOlellan waa also hon
ored at a luncheon Thursday at the
Hotel Medford. given -by officers of
Zulelma temple. ;
Following the ceremonial Wednes
day a banquet waa held at the Hotel
i Medford, attended by one hundred
aeventy-tiva guests. Members of the
patrol and chorus were present and
many songs added to the festive
spirit of the occasion. Tables at the
hotel and the Masonic nan were
beautifully decorated In flowers,, er
. ' pressing the chosen colore of the
temple. And the spirit of the Orient
prevailed In the hall where metal

, Following the ceremonial In the
.; afternoon, tea was served under the
dlreotlon of Mrs. Lewis Ulrlch. The
tea table waa prettily arranged with
flowers and candles aa centerpiece
and Mrs. R. B. Sweeney and Mrs.
Chas. Gilbert poured.
In the evening, as each officer en
tered the Mason lo hall, she waa pre.
sented. a colonial bouquet, a gltt
. from the lnoomlng queen, who also
carried a oolonlal bouquet during the
impressive ceremony, adding a quaint
and lovely touoh to the airair.

local artist, also entertained with a
group of songs, much appreciated,
and was aocompanled at the piano
by Mrs. Roberta Ward Bebb.
The supreme queen waa presented
with a gold nugget from the Grants
Pass members and various other gifta
were exchanged, adding , a holiday
note to the festlvltlea. .
Following the Installation and pre
gram the orowd continued to the
DeMolay hall, which waa enhanced
with palms, ferna and ''baskets of
flowers to form a very Inviting ball
room. The patrol In costume led
the grand march and the evening was
completed with danolng.
Decorations for the day were ar
ranged by Mrs. Marie Sohoepen and
Mra. McOowan- and Mrs. Sweeney
were general chairmen of events.
Thursday a luncheon honoring the
supreme queen was held at the ho
tel, followed by cards at the home
of Mrs. Boggs, where there were four
tables In play. High score was held
by Mrs. Dade Terrett. Tea waa serv
ed at the close of the afternoon by
the hostess. Mrs. Henry BTndera and
Mrs. W. H. McNalr escorted the sup
reme queen to Ashland, where ahe
took the train for Sacramento.
Yesterday the first meeting of Zul
elma temple with the new officers

Mra. Boggs. A meeting waa held at
the Masonic hall In the morning and
In the afternoon and luncheon was
enjoyed at the Hotel Holland, where

o'clock. The gymnasium was attrac
tively decorated with a Valentine mo
tive and the muslo was furnished by
Steve Whipple's orchestra. The dec

Gus Newbury to hold another lec
ture on new bridge rules at her home
Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
Mrs. Newbury, following her return
from the conference in San Francisco,

them on the new bridge rules. Since

play by the new rules and demands

Tea Lovely Affair-
The annual Lincoln tea was he id
Friday afternoon at the Lincoln
school and was attended y about
forty guests of the Parent-Teacher
association. The rooms were attrac
tively arranged with flags and a min
iature log cabin the center of Inter
est. The tea table was arranged with
candles In red, white and blue and
carnations In the same colors.
The program opened with all sing
ing "America." Mrs. Turner gave a
fitting tribute to Abraham Lincoln
through a book : review. Margaret
Loo man entertained with a sori.
'Perfect Day,"' accompanied by Marr
'garet -Bateman.' Mrs. Harry Harding,
county president, gave a talk, and
Mrs. Jack Heyland, city president,
also entertained with an inspiring
address. Mra. Peter Doltrlch, pro
gram chairman, presented the num
bers, and' Mesdames Buckingham,
Morrow, Lydlard and Lovell acted as
hostesses at the pleasant affair.
