GIRLS' VOLLEY TEAM
WILL PLAY ANCIENTS
LOCAL ELKS TONIGHT
Miss Constance Moore and Dr. B.
R. Elliott, business managers respec
tively of the high school girls fast
.volley ball team and the old chaps
who make up the Elks team, have
arranged a league game to be played
at the Elks court Friday at 8:00 p.m.
Miss Carln Degermark has coached
her proteges up to a fine point and it
probably will be "too bad" for the
old fellows who have been unable to
secure a coach; no experienced direc
tor having the nerve to be respon
sible for players with wheezy wind
pipes and hardened arteries.
Mies Degermark will bring the fol
lowing athletic beauties: Constance
Moore, Hazel Kellenbeck, Prances
Porter, Anna Bcheel, Luclle Knlpa,
Ruth D'Alblnl, Edna Takahlra and
Margaret Wolgamott; while the Elks
will be compelled to get along with
such material as George Nellson, Dr.
Elliott, Jim Collins, Joe Pltegel, Don
Newberry and John Niedermeyer.
Mr. Niedermeyer, a former U. of O.
track man, Is the only hope of the
balance of the team, most of whom
carry canes. One member has been
playing oln this same team since the
fall of 1919. Collins has been out
with a sprained ankle. If unable to
play It Is expected that he will be
wedged in as umpire as he Is a good
mathematician (for his side).
It has been reported that some of
these "has been men" have been tak
ing chiropractic adjustments in pre
paration for this event. ,
