side over the school, sponsored by
the Safeway Stores.
The three-day sessions are open to
the nubile and a cordial invitation
for everyone to attend has been ex
tended by J. P. Mashburn, district
manager for Safeway stores.

12 small onions
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons flour
2'A cups milk
teaspoon salt
Ya teaspoon pepper
Ya teaspoon celery salt -2-3
cup crumbs
4 tablespoon cheese
a tablespoons butter, melted
Wash and neel onions: cover by 8
Inches with cold water: bring to boil
ing point, drain and rinse well and
cover again with S Inches of cold
water and almmer 10 minutes; drain
well. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter
and add flour. When blended add
the milk and seasonings and cook
until creamy aauce forms. Stir con
stantly. Add onions , and pour Into
shallow, buttered baking dlah; mix
crumbs, cheese and melted butter:
sprinkle over onions 'and bake 20 min
utes In moderate oven.
Relish Dressing.
1-3 cup French dressing
2 tablespoons chill sauce
2 tablespoons catsup
2 tablespoons liorseradlah
2 tablespoons chopped pickles
Mix and chill Ingrtdlenta. Serve
on lettuce or vegetable salad,
Date' Nut Bread (One -Loaf).
1 cups dates
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon soda
2-3 cup brown sugar
Ya teaspoon aalt
I egg
1 2-3 oups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
4 cup chopped nut
'A teaspoon vanilla
Mix dates and water. Cook alowly
4 minutes. Stir constantly. Add soda
and rest of Ingredient. Pour Into
greased loaf pan and bake one hour
In moderately slow oven.
Date Pudding.
4 egg yolka
1 oup augar
1 teaspoon vanilla
teaspoon aalt
1 teaspoons baking powder
6 tablespoons flour
Hi cups chopped dates
cup nut
4 teaspoon cinnamon
4 egg whites, beaten
Beat yolks and augar; add rest ol
Ingredients, mixing lightly; pour Into
buttered Individual cups and set In
psn of hot water: bake SO minutes In
moderate oven: unmom ana sc
warm or cold with creamy sauc.

2 egg white, beaten.
Blend sugar, flour and salt. Add
yolka. chocolate and milk. Cook tn

Tomato Jelly Salad
Cheese Salad Dressing

Tomato Jelly Salad.
(Using tomato soup.)
2 tablespoons granulated gelatin
4 tablespoons cold water
2 oups tomato soup, boiling
1 cup boiling water
teaspoon aalt
Ya teaspoon paprika
V, oun finely chopped oelery
44 oun chopped plmlento stuffed

2 tablespoons chopped sweet pickles
Soak gelatin In cold water 8 min
utes; add boiling soup and water and
atlr until gelatin has dissolved: oool;
add rest of Ingredient and pour Into
shallow mold which has been rinsed
out with cold water. Set In cold
place to atlffen. Unmold on lettuce
and surround with cheese aalad
dressing.
Cheese Salad Dressing.
4 gg yolk
3 tablespoons flour '
teaspoon aalt
Ya teaspoon dry mustard
5 tablespoona augar
Ya teaspoon paprika
Yt oup vinegar
14 cup water
Ya cup whipped cream
cup white cream oheese
Beat yolks and add dry Ingredients;
add vinegar and water; cook In dou
ble boiler until dressing 1 thick and

Ing; beat well and cool; cream the
cheese with fork and add whipped
cream; combine with dressing and
chill.
Fish Salad Sandwiches
12 buttered slices bread
14 cup tuna
14 cup finely chopped celery
2 tablspoona chopped pickles
2 tablespoons chopped olives
14 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons salad dressing
Arranee bread slices In pairs. Mix
rest of Ingredients and spread
bread. Arrange sandwloh fashion and
wrap In damp cloth until serving time.
Other fish may be used in place
of the tuna.
Bits of shredded lettuce or cabbage
may be used In the sandwiches.
Escalloped Cauliflower and Cheese.
4 tablespoons butter

114 cups cooked cauliflower.
Melt butter and add flour When
mixed, add milk and cook until
creamy sauce forms. Stir constantly.
