Rogue River put on a play Decem
ber 23 written by the school, en
titled "The Red Wagon." which
showed much ability as It waa writ
ten and presented In a very Interest
ing way and was enjoyed by a large
crowd of parents and friends.
Born December 23, to Mr. and Mrs.
Roy Johnson of Wards Creek, a 10

The Presbyterian church gave an

candy and nuts.
Orvllle and Norma Johnson of
Hollywood, Cal., left Tuesday for
their home after spending some time
visiting their aunt, Mrs. Clarence
Stelhl, and family.
Robert Denosky of Grants Pass vis
ited at the P. J. Dengler home last
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Prank Greenwood
were dinner guests Christmas day at
the homo of Mr. and Mrs. James
W.hlpnle.

the dance given here Christmas eve
for the benefit of the town team
basketball. Another dance will be
given In two weeks.
Most of those who have had the
flu are getting well. Miss Annabelle
Heath Is still quite 111 but Improv
ing. Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Laws left
Tuesday night for Salem, where they
will visit their daughter and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Brownie Bnngert.
Wm. Eadfi and son, Billy, have re
turned to Rogue River from Jeffer
son and will make their home at the
ranch on Evans Creek road.

Pass hospital with serious injuries.

After turkey dinner the men played
cards and enjoyed visiting. Mesdames
Chrlstofenaon and Edelmuth adjourn
ed to the Steward home where tha
ladies played cards.
Mrs. Tom Owens entertained her
aons, Jim and John Trefron and
brother-in-law, John Owens, at dinner
Christmas.
Henry Miller family, who formerly
lived north of the Evans Creek bridge,
have built a small home across tha
road and moved Into it. The Moors
family moved Into the house vacated
by Henry Miller.
Several people became 111 at the Wi
mer school entertainment, Mrs. Chris
tofenson and Mr, Cossldy's little girt,
among others.
There Is much sickness In this vi
cinity. Mrs. C lugs ton has been 1U
for some time, both her daughters
being called home from Klamath
Falls and Portland. A sister, Mrs. Nell
Webber, has also been here.
Mrs. Greenwood Is now convalescing
from flu. Messrs Arlle and Lynden
Hatch had slight backset after
Christmas.
Lynden Hatch family spent Christ
mas day with the Hatch family in
Rogue River, making a trip to Grants
Pass before returning.
The doctor calls on Mr. Pitman
dally, but no report of Improvement
has been received.
Santa Claus found his way out
here, but he seemed to be feollng the
depression.
George Martin, the mall earner
on route one, who has been very 111
with flu, ta back on his route again.
Mrs. Vivian Norman Barto has been
111 with a heart attack. She la at
the home of her mother, Mra. Cath
arine N. Law, and la better now.
Motorcyclist Fails
To Make Curve, Dies
PORTLAND, Deo. 30. (AP) Killed
when his motorcycle failed to make a
curve In the road, the body of Jack
W. Dozler of Salem was found last
niffht on the St, Paul -Salem highway
two miles south of Newberg.
