December 20 Valley View Commun
ity club held an enjoyable Christmas
party. Each lady was dressed as a
girl or boy. "Jack" Davenhlll was
the sensation. After a short program
of Christmas carols, a paper, 'Christ
mas Legends and Customs," by Bal
Stratton; two songs, Mae Lennox and
Mabel Lown; song, Emily Leslie, and
a short drill by a number of girls,
presents were exchanged and games
played. Refreshments were served at
a beauitlully decorated tabic.
Miss Ruby Hamell visited her
brother in Klamath county last week.
Infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
E. Hamell died at the age of two
months.
Frank Reed received word recently
of the death of his mother, Mrs.
Emma Reed, at Kingsberg, Col. The
lived near Phoenix sevoral years and
made many friends In the valley.
Tuesday evening Mrs. L. O. Pen-
land entertained the O. !f. O. Bridge
club, guests being Mrs. Floyd Dickey.

Thursday with a load of turkeys to
sell for tho Christmas trade. Many
of the Bellvlew residents are shipping
turkeys to San Francisco,

will repair and raise the chimney of
the kitchen In the Upper Valley Com
munity clubhouse. He will also give
an estimate of the necessary require
ments to finish tho Inside walls of
the olub house which will add to
the warmth of the building.
Mr. and Mrs. George Andrews will
