Saturday morning and his case was
continued Indefinitely. Bilger was ar
rested In October by the police on
the charge of contributing to the de
linquency of a minor. The complaint

the grand jury failed to Indict him,
Bilger was released.

announcement that Betty McDowell
has been chosen to play the role of
the heroine, Violet Plnney, the gov
erness, in Booth Tarklngton's pro
duction, "Clarence."
AT RIPE AGE
Mrs. Serepta Ellen Inlow, pioneer
resident of Jackson county In vari
ous parts of which she has resided
for more than 70 years, died In
Jacksonville at 3:00 a. m. Friday at
the age of 80 years.
Mrs. Inlow waa born at Eugene,
Oregon. Aug. 24, 1832 and when a
small child, came with her parents.
Mr. and Mrs. John Winters to Jack
son county where she has since re
sided. Her father was a scout during
the Indian hostilities and took part
in the famous Hungry Hill battle in
the Wolf creek country.
Mrs. Inlow. with her family, has
resided In Ashland. Talent, Eagle
Point and in the nineties, moved to
Trail where for 13 years she was
post mistress there.
She was a long time member of
the Baptist church and In the early
days before the public schools, she
attended the academy at Jackson
ville. She leaves three sons, Fred In
low of Trait: Harvey E. of La
Grande, Ore. and Arthur Morrison
by a former marriage of Lions,. Ore.

under the 1932 offlcera was held
December 15, opening with a pro
gram of music and stunts. The
"Wedding of the Painted Doll" was
prettily presented In pantomlne by
the Juvenile group, with Ellen Lot
land as the bride, Arlene Inman, the
groom and Elizabeth Southwell the
minister.
A brief business session followed
after which a delicious hot supper
was served by the committee In
charge.

CHRISMS CHEER IN
A measure of Yule cheer came to
290 residents of the city and valley
Saturday afternoon, when icid re
lief work checks were Issued to
them by the county coiirt. It was
the largest relief payroll of the wlfl
ter. The pay averaged about $13 per
man, and means that Santa Claus
would make an appearance, at many
otherwise cheerless homes. Issuance
of the warrants started at four o'
clock, and the line formed an hour
before. The county oourt. placed as
many men as possible on the work
lists, the past week.

ot Medford, passed away at her res
idence. 310 South Riverside avenue.
Friday night at 10 o'clock, after a
lingering Illness. She was the wife
of D. W. Drlskel, deceased. She was
a member of the Christian church.
Mrs. Drlskel leaves two children,
one daughter, Mrs. Fannie Taylor of
Eugene, and son Zach Drlskel, of near
Portland. Funeral services will be
announced by the Perl Funeral
Home upon the arrival of her daugh
ter.
