HEW $1 FISHING LICENSE
URGED FOR VACATIONIST
PORTLAND, Ore., Dec If. (AP) A proposal that a new type of fish
ing license, to lie known aa a "vac atlon license," be provided for by the
state legislature, was advorated by th state game commission at a meet
ing here Tuesday. Several other o henges In the state game laws were
suggested.
The vacation license would see for
H and would permit the holder to
angle In Oregon waters for one week,
within the dates stipulated on the
leoense.
The commission recommended that
the minimum fine for gams law vio
lations be reduced from tlOO to 2B,
and urged the closing of the sesson
on bass during May and June of
each year.
Prohibition of the practice of train
Ing bird doga In the field between
March t and June 80 . woe reoom
mended, since many mother birds, It
was said, are thus driven from their
nests.
It was suggested that hunters and
anglers report the numbtr of fish
caught and the number of game
birds and animate killed each sea
son. Prohibition of the aale of bass
at any time In Oregon, whether the
fish be caught Inside Vie state or
elsewhere, was asked.
Another radical change In statutes
was the suggestion thst when a game
lew violation arrest la made the ar
resting officer may order the arrested
person to appear In court at some
future date. The law now specifies
that the person be tnken Immedi
ately before the magistrate or be
lodged In Jail pending such appearance.
