He was arrested near the county
fairgrounds by the state police, trav
eling at 45 miles sn hour in a county
track. The state law limits the
speed of trucks to 85 miles an hour,
and commercial stsges to 45 miles
per hour.

TO GRIME SCENE
Warren Wojioer, 26, wanted In
Wateeka. 111., for kidnaping a banker,
and with two accomplices holding
him prisoner In an effort to compel
him to open the bank vault, left
the past week for the mid-west, where
be will stand trial. His two com
panions are serving prison terms.
Wockner was arrested two weeks ago
in a trapper's cabin In the Trail dis
trict. He has kin In that section,
who knew nothing of Wockner'a ao
tlvltles The accused bad been In
southern Oregon during the past sum
mer. Wockner wss In custody of A. Phil
Hps, an Illinois officer, who has
known Wockner for several years. The
prisoner, when he left here, wore an
"Oregon boot" to forestall any escape
attempt. Wockner la asserted to have
boasted tbat he would never go to
the penitentiary, and to have warned
Phillips he would escape, If he had
a chance.
Following the Illinois crime, Wock
ner escaped from Florida, where he
sustained a sllgbt wound in a gun
battle with offlceis, and Is said to
have also escaped from a Santa Cms,
Calif., officer after bis arrest for rob
beries In Humboldt county, Calif, He
bad been bunted for over a year.
During bis short stay in the county
Jail. Wockner was a model prisoner.
