SOUND EFFECTS
TOM'
A thrilling climax to a gang story,
told at a local lunch counter a Tew
days ago, waa reported today by
Thomas Puson, teller of the story,
but not of the climax.
"Tom," as he Is known to the
Roxy Ann gang, was seated at the
counter reviewing a thrilling story
of gun battle, following the attack
by an unidentified bandit upon State
Police Officer Joe Folsom. The story
was neaiing an end, and Tom had
made It as halr-ralalng as possible,
when a shot suddenly sounded In
the room and Tom fell over on the
counter. His listeners were paralyzed
for the moment, but when no blood
appeared, stepped forward and found
a cork on the counter beside Tom's
head.
Assured that It was only the oork
from a bottle of mixer on the coun
er behind him which struck him,
Tom made a quick getaway without
completing his yarn.
