lined the first evening of the meet
ing. The banquet, Saturday night,
and the honor of having five Oregon
Christian Endeavor union officers at
the convention were brought out.
It was also decided to Chrlatmas
carol again this year as it has been
in the past.
The local society has been active In
the past few weeks. The Intermediate
society had 33 present the flrat night.
At their first meeting officers were
elected as follows: President, Price

would be unavoidable.
Opposes Debt Tinkering.
As a leader of the contest attains

opposition to any "tinkering" at this
time with the debts.

whole debt problem." he said. "That

shall pay our government what they
owe us or shall the American tax
payers pay what the European na
tions owe us?
