Jackson County Health association
will be held Monday at Phoenix In
the new church at 3 o'clock.

ling this year.
Miss Mildred Carlton, president of
the association, who recently return
ed from the east, will have chsrge

particularly upon the health organi

Gleemen Sing in
Formal Concert
Tuesday, Nov. 22
Medford's largest singing organi
zation, the Gleemen's male chorus,
la practising Intensively In prepara
tion for the formal concert to be
given the evening of Nov. 32nd. This
promises to be a musical treat as
the program embraces a wide variety
of numbers and the singers are bend
ing every effort to bring each selec
tion to the point of perfection.
Their first appearance when they
sang at the dedication of the court
house was a delightful surprise to
the large audience, but this concert
toward which they are working will
far surpass anything of It character
ever done before In Medford. The
direction of the ensemble I In the
capable hands of James Stevens and
the accompanist Is Sebsstlan Appollo,
well known concert pianist. Arrange
ments are under way to secure the
use of the High School auditorium
for the occasion and It la expected
that the attendance will tax It full
seating capacity.

Turkey Dinner
On Thursdsy Night
For Washington school's Daddy's
night, to be held Thursday at ths
scnool, plana have been announced
for a turkey dinner at 8:30 o'clock. A
program will also ba presented at
the gathering, with a large number
or the school children participating.
A large number of the parents are
planning to attend the annual af
fair, and an Interesting entertain
ment I expected.

The regular monthly meeting of the
Dixie club waa held November 8, at
the home of Mra. C. C. Murray. Mrs.
Murray. Mrs. D'Alblnl and Mrs. Dech
acting as hostesses.
There wss a good attendance and
the afternoon was spent sewing for
the Red Cross.
Miss Constance Moore gave two
lovely piano selections: current event
were discussed; then followed the
distribution of sample ballot and
the marking of them. Aa the mem
bership of the club Is composed of
those reared In the South or descend
ants of ancestors from south of the
Mason Dixon Line, the election went
strongly Democratic.
At the close of the election, re
freshments were served at a beauti
fully appointed table with a center
piece of fruits and nuts brought re
cently from Arkansas.
The next meeting of the club will
be held December 8 at the home of
Mrs. A. J. Hanby with Mrs. Hanby.
