Harold Brown Thurtuay.

Attendants were Mr. and Mrs., T.
Slater Johnston, whose marriage was
an event of the late summer. A few
relatives and Immediate friends of
the couple were guests,
Following the service. Mr., and Mrs.
.Brown left for a motor trip north,
after which they will be at home
to their friends In Medford, where
Mr. Brown is manager of the First
Insurance Agency In the offices of
the Jackson County Building and
Loan association.
Mrs. Brown, slate? of Mrs. T. Slater
Johnston, Royal E. Bebb and Irvln
Bebb, all of this city, is also a niece
of MUs Mary A,- Mee of Central Point
and a member of one of southern
Oregon's pioneer families.
Mr. Brown, a graduate of the Uni
versity of Oregon, has made his home
in this city for several years, play
ing an active part tn business and
civic activities.
Central Point P.-T. A. Has -Armistice
Program
Armistice day- was observed. In an
' appropriate manner by the Central
Point schools Thursday afternoon.
The occasion was the regular meeting
of the F.-T. A. The entire student
body of grades and high school was
present.
. The outstanding feature of the
afternoon was the Inspiring and patri
otic address given by W. R. Balrd,
pastor of the Christian church In
Medford.
The pupils of the seventh grade
directed by their teacher, 0. Lowe,
presented other numbers.
The stage was decorated with six
graves, covered with green boughs,
and each marked by a white, cross.
In the background guns were stack
" ed and large American flags hung;

A. held Its regular meeting and tea
was served by the mothers of fourth
grade pupils.
Officers Elected by
Neighbors of Woodcraft
PHOENIX Neighbors of Woodcraft
met Wednesday night with a covered
dish 1 supper. During the regular
meeting of the lodge, officers were
elected, and will be Installed at the
first meeting In January. Elected
were: Mrs. Caster, Mrs. Coblelgh and
Mrs. Watt, managers; Mrs. Briscoe,
captain of guards; Elva Caster, cor
respondent; Mrs. Hardesty. flag bear
er; Mrs. Bay Ward, guardian neigh

Armistice Ball Heads
Calendar for Today
Leading In Interest all events on
today's social calendar Is the Armis
tice ball, scheduled for this evening
at the Oriental Gardens. The an
nual event will serve as grand finale
to the day's celebration and a large
crowd is expected from many sec
tions. The hall hae been beautifully dec
orated In holiday attire, under toe
direction of Tom Swem, and music
will be furnished by Dom Provost's
orchestra.
The affair will also be character
ized by the appearance of many love
ly winter gowns, expressing the lead
ing trends forithe new season.
Several dinner parties and in
formal home gatherings have been
planned to follow this afternoon's
football game and to precede the
dance.

Members of Reames chapter, O. E.
3., turned their thoughts to music
Wednesday evening, when social
night was held at the Masonic tem
ple. A. H. Wllletts was program
chairman for the evening and the
musical numbers were arranged un
der the direction of Mrs. Elsie Carl
ton Strang. Mrs. C. Hi Paske en
tertained with several vocal solos and
Miss Imogene Wallace with a number
of piano compositions. t
Chrysanthemums and ferns, ar
ranged about the hall, added much
beauty to the occasion.

To Present Recital
Rosa Black more Wtllett left Med
ford for Grants Pass to take over her
large piano class and conduct the
splendid recital which Is to take place
on Saturday evening, November 12,
at "Ardencralg,M the residence of Mr.
and Mrs. K. M. C. Nelli, on the Red
wood highway.
The affair promises to be a bril
liant success and a large crowd will
be present.
Gala Circus Spirit ,
Reigns at Luncheon
At festive tables, where the three
ring circus Idea was expressed
through the use -of colorful autumn
leaves and miniature clowns, bears
and all members of the circus fam
ily, covers were arranged at the Hotel
Medford today noon for 65 members
of the American Legion Auxiliary fur
the annual Armistice day luncheon.

the holiday scheme of decorations
and flags and festoons about tables

celebrating.

ed by her committee, arranged the
luncheon tables and Mrs. Wm. Lee

Mrs. Chaa. w. Gilbert entertained
yesterday with a lovely 1 o'clock
luncheon, followed by contract bridge.
