worries at their regular weekly meet
ing yesterday and put on a burlesque
political program which scored a hit
with everyone present. With C J.
Semon impersonating Will Rogers
and Hamilton Patton as master of
ceremonies, various members were
called upon to discuss the "merit,"
of various measures on the ballot as
well as the platforms of the Repub
lican, Democrats and Socialist par
ties. The entire program was of a
burlesque nsture and no attempt
wee made to be serious, much to the
relief of thoM who have listened to
lengthy discourses upon this candi
date and that measure for the pest
few week.
President Al Lantl announced the
election of Ed Shockley. former presi
dent and secretary of the local club,
to succeed Secretary D. A. Chambers,
who is leaving the city. Hamilton
Patton announced an Interesting pro
gram for November 27, which will
feature moving pictures of the pro
posed route of the Alaska-Central
America highway, and advised that
the Chamber of Commerce would be
Invited to attend.
