No change have been made In the
tuition charges of the lawa or rulea
regarding them during the past five
years in Medford, according to state
ment Issued today by Bupt. E. H. Hed.
rick In answer to many Inquiries, re
ceived from pupils In the smaller
schools of the county, who are seek
ing entrance In the Medford high
echool this year.
The Medford district allows any
parent or guardian, who Uvea outside
the district and pays tuition far s
pupil, full credit for all the school
tax he pays within the Medford dis
trict, Superintendent Hedrlck stated.
This amount Is deducted from any
tuition bill he may be charged upon
presentation to the school clerk of
his paid up tax receipt from the pre
vious year.
Prom pupils, who come in from
districts that do not maintain high
schools, the county pays the actual
coat as figured from the clerks re
port at the close of the year.

1. All pupils whose parents or
legal guardian actually reside within
the boundarlea of school district No.
49. are of course entitled to attend
the Medford schools. The residence
of a minor child Is where his psrents
or legal guardians reside. For ex
ample. If a pupil whose parenta live
In another high school district comes
Into Medford and boards with some
family and attends school he la liable
for tuition, for the reason that he
has no residence here.
3. A pupil whose parents or legal
guardians reside In a rural district or
any other achool district that does
not maintain a high school, may at
tend the Medford high school or any
other high school In the state and the
county must pay for hla tuition.
3. Whenever any school district
maintains a high school, however, no
matter how little or how poor It Is,
pupils who live In that dls'.rtct must
attend It or pay their own tuition If
they go elsewhere. The law does not
permit the county to pay It. The

month, a little less than actual cost.
Flying Saw Kills

(AP) When a portable aaw flew
loose from Its stsnd and crashed Into
his body. William Kllnkslck. 49. of
the Shan creek district near here,
waa killed late Thursday. The saw
narrowly missed another worker after
having fatally Injured Kllnkslck.
NEED OF SHELTER

received a letter from Mr. Irwin
Dahack. recently married, asking the
right to live In an empty furnished
house on a ranch on Lake creek, be
longing to an estate. The adminis
trator of the estate objects to grant
ing the privilege.
Mrs. Dahaek came here a month
ago from 6an Francisco, with her
five children, at the alleged request
of the Dahacy brothers Ivan and
Irwin in . response to an ad In a
matrimonial paper. She was receiv
ing 9100 per month, the claims, from
San Tanelaco county, for the care
oi herself and children. Lest she
become a public charge here, the dis
trict attorney office InsUted the
Dahack brothers render aid. Later,
a marriage license was taken out by
Xrwtn Dahack, who ts aa uncle of
Everett Dahack, killed In a Reete
creek still raid two years ago.
According to Mrs. Dahack, she and
her flock are now living in a hall at
Lost creek. The structure has no
doors or windows, and she requests
the right to move into the estate
home. Deputy District Attorney
George W. Nellson said today it would
b: denied.
The Dahack brothers are stockmen
and mountain ranchers.
