Fire Truck Called The city fire
truck was called to extinguish a blaze
last night between the Monarch Seed
and Feed company and the Ala Vista
packing house. Only rubbish and
some boxes were destroyed, the de
partment reported. The alarm waa
sounded at 8:35.

the Pythian Sisters are sponsoring a

Ralph Slover, lfl-yeax-old Central
Point youth, taken into custody about
two months ago on a charge of at- j
tempt io assault a iour-year-oia
child, was released today, following
an operation ordered by the county
court, and paroled to his parents, H.
E. Slover and Sadie Pierce of Central
Point.
He will be paroled to his parents
as long as he conducts himself "In
accordiance with the peace, health
and safety provisions of Oregon law,"
the order, of the court states.
Ho will remain In the court's cus
tody for five years. The operation
undergone by Slover, following the
examination which established his
delinquency, was with the full and
voluntary consent of himself and his
parents, the county court order also
sets forth.

day of the wedding In Grants Pass,
October 6, of Misa Clarice Dunbar,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George
Dunbar of Lognn, Utah, to Melvln
Wright of this city.

J. W. Maloney, Democratic candi
date for atate treasurer, running
against Rufus Holman, incumbent,
waa in Medford today and yesterday
meeting the voters and getting a line
on his political chances in Southern
Oregon.
Mr. Maloney waa accompanied by
E. E. Goro and H. O. Wortman, well
known in local pioneering, the latter
having been a friend of Mr. Maloney
for over 40 years.
Mr. Maloney made an excellent im
pression on those .he met, as a man
of character, standing and ability.
Unlike many candidates, he made no
extravagant claims, but gave the im
pression that if elected he would
give the people a good business ad
ministration of the office.

Suit was filed In circuit court yes
terday by Florence Dolan against Ra
chel Mead and Harry Mead, charging
that on June 1, 1932, the defendants
seized a aorrel horse, with white face.

farm at Sams Valley.
The plaintiff states that demands
for the horse have been repeated
and that she waa forced to make a
trip from Reno, Nev., to southern
Oregon at a cost of $200 In an at
tempt to regain the horse. She asks
Judgment for the return of the horse
and 4300 damages, and further states
that If said horse cannot be returned
the plaintiff asks for a judgment for
the value of the horse, the additional
sum of $500.

DECISION DENIES
ESTATE OF WIFE
Decision, denying P. K. Nalley,
plaintiff, share in the estate of the
late Mrs. Nalley, was handed down
today in circuit court by Judge James
T. Brand of Coos county, presiding
on the local bench. The suit brought .
by Nalley against B. E. Harder, ex-
ecutor in the estate of Mrs. Nalley's
father, the lat Wm. Poluter, involv
ing the settlement of his divorced
wife's estate, was finished this morn
ing. The Judge's decision followed
soon after the completion of the case.
A second decision, determining the
rightful heirs to the Nalley property
will be handed down when the legal
rights of the various claimants have
been thoroughly determined. The
second decision will determine the
distribution of the money to the
heirs.
The case, a very Involved one, haa
been in the courts of this county for
many months. Nalley was represent
ed in the recent suit by Attorney Ouy
O. Smith of Salem. Attorneys F. J.
Newman. A. E. Reames, O. C. Boggs,
J. F FJiegel, Hlldlng Bengtaon and W.
J. Looker represented heirs and other
persona concerned with the case.
Judge Brand also heard the cause
for action In the case of F. A. Batea
against the Medford Printing com
pany for alleged libel this morning,
and ordered the attorney for the
plaintiff to state separately the causes
for action. In the complaint filed,
eight separate publications are In
cluded In the one cause for action.
TRAFFIC MEN FOR
The Rogue River Traffic associa
tion at the noon meeting at the
Jackson Hotel today took action
agreeing to co-operate with the New
York pear committee to restrict the
shipment of Bosc pears to the New
York market, for at least one week.
The restriction la expected to in
crease the demand which la at present
slightly over-supplied. The New York
pear committee yesterday asked that
this action be taken and announced
that meetings are being held dally
to promote the sale of southern Ore
gon pears.

For Evening Train
Change tn the schedule of the
north bound evening train, out from
Medford, wna announced today by A,
S Rosenbauh, district freight and
passenger agent for the Southern
Pacific. The train will leave Ath-
land at 6:35 p. m.. Instead of 0:15,
and will leave Medford at 7:20 p. m.

continued this week to maintain
prices nearer those of a year ago than
did most of the other standard farm
products, according to a review Issued
today by the federal market service
and Oregon State College extension
service.
Prices advanced one cent In San
Francisco and held Bteady at Port
land at 26 cent for top grade. At
Chicago November refrigerator stand
ards actually closed in advance of the
prices a year ago.
No price changes of consequence oc
curred In the far east where markets
were rather quiet. Little speculative
interest was in evidence.
