Scout troop No. 14 of Beagle and
Scoutmaster E. B. Lucas were guests
at the Sanu Valley Grange Saturday.
The boys put on a first aid demon
stration and some stunts.
Relief club of this community met
at the Gillette home Thursday and
apent the day sewing. Attending
were Miss Swanson. Mrs. Harper, Ger
aldtne Harper. . Mrs. Schuls and
Orandma Parks. Next meeting will
be announced later.
Lawrence Sanderson was taken
home from the Sacred Heart hospital
October 6. He la gaining slowly but
still confined to his bed.
School children gave a short pro
gram Wednesday evening and after
ward a pie sale. The proceeds will
be spent for hot lunches for the
children during the winter months.
All appreciate the support of the ad
joining districts In this project.
Miss Boussom attended teachers'
Institute In Medford Thursday and
Friday and the school children en
Joyed the vacation. Mr. " Swanson,
school clerk, also spent Thursday In
Medford.
The school bosrd took advantage of
the two days' vacation and painted
the schoolhouse porch floor and the
library floor.
Mrs. Pomeroy, teacher, and Miss
Mary Sollee. clerk, of the Meadows
school, also attended Institute.
Milton Sanderson and Walter Prey
left for Klamath Palls to work In
the potato field a few weeks.
Mrs. Tom Dews left October 8 for
Chico, Cal., to apend the winter with
her sister. Mrs. Dews health does
not permit her to spend the winter
here.

voluntarily reduced their salaries by
10 per cent, a checkup at the secre
tary of state's office revealed.
Reduction were self -Imposed by
'five more Judges for September. .
Those taking the reduction In Sep
tember were Judges Brand, Skip
worth, Hewitt, Taewell and Walker,
leaving only Judges O. H. McColloch
and I. H. McMahan of Marlon county
