motor to Klamath Falls next week to

Edwin Taylor left Sunday for Port

Just three days after the arrival
of Mary Ann, his seven-pound baby
girl, Miriam Worthlngton was taken
suddenly ill while broadcasting from
the studio at San Francisco and
rushed to the hospital where he un
derwent an operation for appendici
tis. His mother, Mrs. Martin Stev
ens, of Medford left Thusrday even
ing to be there to care for the family.

to be an Interesting place, or maybe
people go there to have some place
to go; at least It seems to be getting
Its share of publicity this summer,

there. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Saltmarsh,
who have charge of the lookout, were
visited laat Sunday by Everett Bee-
son, Republican nominee for county
sheriff, and .his wife or Talent. The
road now is completed to within one
mile of the lookout and Mr. and
Mrs. Beeson drove their car to the
end of the road. .
Mr, and Mrs. Benton Pool and
daughter, Maude, enjoyed a motor
trip to Yreka Sunday.

and each club la doing all they find
possible to do. Mra. Fred Offenbach

conservation of the entire Applegate
district. Her committee are Mrs. J.
R. Hoffman and Mrs. Fred Benedict,
who are working through the home
extension' unit. That club ordered
Jara and at a recent meeting the
Jars were distributed. Each member
received six Jars to fill for the relief
work. The home economic club,
which works through the Orange.
appointed a committee of three. The
members are Mrs. Frank Knutzen,
Mrs. Tom Mee and Mrs. Jack O'Brien.
These club members plan to donate
filled Jars from their own pantry
shelves. The committee for the Big
Applegate Community club, which
takes in upper Big Applegate, are

The Little Applegate club hasn't
formed Its committee yet but plana
