The clash was precipitated by the
hoodlums' mistaken notion that a
squad of policemen, whose car drew

gunmen, not waiting for a go-signal,

Of course many thousands of ques
tlons and requests received by Miss
Duncan are ignored, but she finds
time to answer other thousands.
Tons of letters have been received
from radio fans sll over the country
following her weekly broadcast from
a Los Angeles radio station.
For the past eight years Miss Dun
can has devoted much time to her
radio work, but on account of the
depression with thousands without
food In Los Angeles, she has given up
her work on the air to personally di
rect several restaurants she operates
In the city where the unemployed
and penniless are fed good meals free
of charge.
We must see that these thousands
of men and women who pre destitute
do not lose their faith In humanity.
They must bo fed. We must strive
to the end that none go hungry," she
said.
Miss Duncan will make a tour of
the northwest this fall and will visit
Medford snd other cities, meeting face
to face those who have listened to
her regularly every week over ths
radio.
