Nandie's Grill, Open Saturday, Provides Smart New Dining Place

an atmosphere of old Venice, await
southern Oregon people who dine at
handle's Grill. Medlo'd'a new. smart
restaurant. Carpenters, electricians
painters and decorators are working
at top speed, today, putting on the
finishing touches H preparation for
the opening tomorrow.
Nandte's new Grill reflects the ar
tistry of Med ford's decorators and
workmen. A touch of old France is
added to the Italian atmosphere in
harmony with French dishes that will
grace Nandle's menu. An entirely new
entrance greets the diner who visits
Nandie's tomorrow. Modernistic trim
adds life to the otherwise severe front
while over the graceful center arch
the name "Nandle's" Is emblazoned
In neon.
Upon entering the grill, a long mahogany-topped
fountain dominates
the front left while pastry and candy
counters are at the right. Twelve
cozy, booths line the walls of Nandle's,
fashioned of Philippine mahogany In
modernistic design and trimmed In
dull gold. Individual little table
lamps flood each booth In a soft
glow. Indirect lighting, from beauti
fully designed, hand-wrought lamps
give' ample light for the main room
and three center tables.
An outstanding feature of Nandle's
Grill la the mezzanine party room
finished In French and Italian shades
of green and yellow with black trim
ming. Forty people are accommodat
ed in this cozy banquet room which
overlooks the main floor. Seven little
French windows, screened If desired
with Venetian blinds, line the front
of this mezzanine room.
Saturday's opening la assuming the
aspect of a social event In this city
with people from all parts of the
Rogue River valley anxious to view
F. E. Nandie's beautiful new restau
rant. Music will be a feature of the
debut of Nandle's Grill tomorrow and
delilous foreign and American dishes
will be served.
A colorful neon sign, with modern
istic trim, will invite hungry diners
to Nandie's Grill In th evening while
neon window signs will inform the
public of Nandte's fountain and pastries.

makes a unique entrance at Nandle'
Oral, and guests will see a beauti
fully arranged Interior with a de
cidedly Venetian atmosphere. No ef
fort has been spared to transform
this cafe Into one of the outstand
ing dining places In this part of the
state, according to Mr. Nandle.
Tom Swem designed and made the
overhead light shades. In addition to
small duplicate lamps for the booths.
He also had charge of decorating the
balcony and the main dining room.
Extensive repairs were made In the
kitchen, which has been enlarged to
afford more space for the retail pastry
department:
Patrons of Nandle's will enjoy some
thing different In the way of menus
as the new chef will specialise in
French and Italian foods, as well as
American dishes.

While here he appeared In a two-day
program at the Fox Craterfan theatre.
James Hall, motion picture star,
who whipped .the reaches of the rug

back to the Rogue when fishing Is
