CARVING IN PEARL

The pra-vlew ot a 1933 world's fair
exhibit of the' art reproduction of
"The Lord's Last Supper," a hand
earring in relief, made entirely of
mother-of-pearl with olive wood as a
background, opened this afternoon on
the mezzanine balcony of the Hotel
Hertford.
Due to the fact that Mr. Korenten,
owner of the carving, was formerly
ft Medford resident, he wished to thus
favor his many friends and acquain
tances here. The small admission

for "booster" clubs has swept through
Nebraska towns this summer whis

Council, held at the Chamber of
Commerce last night, definite plana
were formulated for ttie sale of labor
agreements to finance the operations
of tho Medford Association of the
Unemployed, looking toward the ac
cumulation of material for the use
of the unemployed during the com
ing winter, according to Larry Achade,
president of the council.
Solicitation for sale of the associa
tion labor agreements will be made
by the unemployed themselves, and
H. O. Moore, manager of the associa
tion, la today completing arrange
ments for the selection of commit
tees to do the actual contact work
It Is expected that a major part of
the work will be completed by Sat
urday night.
It waa pointed out at last night's
meeting that it was the object of the
Association of the Unemployed to sell
the association labor agreements par
ticularly to those residents of the
city who are n owemployed, and that
no special effort will be made to sell
the agreements to business houses or
firms. The association hopes to gain
the cooperation of those now having
jobs In providing one day's work per
month from each person employed in
the city.
Undoubtedly the first project for
which funds derived from the sale
of labor agreement will be used is
that of gathering a sufficient quan
tity of wood for the use of the un
employed families this winter.
Other projects will be worked out
by the association of the unemployed,
composed of heads of families living
In and near Medford.

Dr, Morris In his address stressed
the claim that the debts are per
