Suspend Sentence The remainder
of the sentence of Harvel W. Jones,
sentenced to the county Jail July 26
for 30 days, was suspended last week
by Judge Glenn O. Taylor. Jones was
given six months to pay the remain
der of the $100 fine imposed.
To Visit Brother Jamws Elliott
who resides near Emporia, Kans., is
expected In Medford the last of this
month to visit his brother Fire Oheif
Roy Elliott. James Elliott Is a mail
carrier In that area, where he has
filled the position for the past 22
years.

ing of the Klwanla club tomorrow
noon at the Hotel Medford, and will
relate what the county relief com

Fllegel Lands Fish J. P. Fllegel
has a legal mind but and angling
hand he proved to the world Friday,
when he deserted the law office for
a few houra on the Rogue. He return
ed with a big ateelhead, which put
up a great battle and furnished a fine
dinner for a group of Mr. Fllegel's
friends, who explained that the six
pounder was caught on a sewing
thread used for line.

opens today at the Fox Craterlan,
figured In a new enterprise ,when ci
nematograph ers were added to his ex
pedition through the Malayan Jungles
to film authentic scenes for the pic
turlzatlon of his famous book.
"This time we had a camera along
for the first time," he reminisced,
"and Instead of running away from
deadly, dangerous episodes like com
bats between formidable beasts, we
hoped to witness some. We stalked
a hungry tiger until he came upon

clearing standing over a young wild
boar she had Just clawed open.
"A black panther sneaked up, and
in about a minute there was enough
black and yellow fur flying to make
a Princeton football banner. And
the funny pnrt of It la that the fight
ended In a draw with both parties
slinking off when they scented us,
leaving the boar for a tawny spotted
leopard which came along about a
half hour after the battle was over."

Since the tremendous success of the
vaudeville bill presented at the Holly
a short while ago many have request
ed further programs of thla sort and
we are very glad to announce a
greater vaudeville show at the Holly
Tuesday and Wednesday, for both
matinee and evening. John Nleder
meyer, manager of the Holly, an
nounced today. Nledermeyer has Just
returned from a trip to Portland,
where he made arrangements for the
bill.
Headlining tha show are the laco
lussl Quartet, plano-accordlan and
violin artists. Known as an unusual
quartet of musicians, and coming di
rect from San Francisco, at the termi
nation of their coast to coast tour,
these dlmunltlve, though dynamic,
musicians easily top anything heard
in the northwest.
Has Gold Stolen Dr. Thompson,
who has his offices on East Main
street, reported to city polloa yester
day morning that a quantity of gold,
valued at between (10 and 113, was
stolen from his offices sometime Fri
day night.
