MANY REPLIES TO
DEDICATION INVITE
REACH COMMITTEE
That a large number of out-of-town
guest will be present for the
dedication of the new Jackson coun
ty court house was Indicated this
morning by committees la charge of
the dedication program. A number
of replies to invitations sent out hv
the dedication committee and Coun
ty Judge C. B. Lamktn, have been
received, assuring attendance at the
event.
Among the county judge who
have accepted Invitation to be pres
ent are Judge D. F. Thompson, of
Coos county; Judge Geo. A. Potter,
of Sherman county. Judge D. O
Wood worth, of Linn county, and
Judge C. O. Gillette, of Josephine
county. Nearly all of the county of
ficials In southern Oregon counties
will undoubtedly accept Invitations
extended to them, according to Judge
Lamkin.
The state supreme court, wili be
represented by Chief Justice H. J.
Bean, and although Governor Meier
will be unable to attend, he will
probably designate George Joseph, Jr.
aa his official representative at the
dedication ceremonies. Senator Fred
erick Stelwer has indicated that he
will be In Medford for the event, but
the attend ft no of Senator C. L. Mc
Kary is doubtful, according to pres
ent Information,
State Treasurer Rufua C. Hodman
and Public Service Commissioner C.
M. Thomas will complete the delega
tion of state officials represented In
Medford on September 1st, since Hal
E. Hofis, secretary of state; General
George White, and C. P. Pray, super
intendent of the state police, will be
unable to be present.
Mayors of southern Oregon com
munities will be present, represent
ing nearly all towns In Jackson and
Josephine counties, and masters of
the various granges throughout the
county will participate in the cere
monies. Further information will
undoubtedly be released in the near
future, covering In detail acceptances
to the many invitations issued.
The American Legion committee in
charge of the dedication ceremonies
was informed early this week by E.
C. (Jerry) Jerome, local apent for the
Texas company that the new public
address system of the T xas Co. will
be brought from San Francisco to
Medford for the dedication. The com
mittee in charge feels that this will
be a valuable addition to the pro
gram, since the equipment to be sup
plied Is the mortt modern available,
and the crowd in attendance will fee
able to hear the addresses and enter
ta;nment without th least effort.
This public address system Is the
same as the one used at the San
Francisco Shrine convention In July.
