Another pioneer of Jackson eounty,
Mra. Kettle L. Howard Webb, wife of
B. 8. Webb, of 1466 North Mansfield
avenue, Hollywood, Cel., died at bet
home Monday evening, August 6,
1932, of heart-disease. Bhe was born
In Kewanee, 111., December 3, 1859,
days of age at the time of her deith.
She crossed the plains by ox team
with her parents, J. 6. and M. B.
Howard, and two brothers In 1800,
and arrived In Jacksonville In Octo
ber of the same year.
She grew to womanhood In Jack
sonville, where she lived until 1884.
when the family moved to ttie new
town of Medford. She was well known
to the older pioneers of the valley.
November 10, 1888, she was married
to B. B, Webb of Medford, later mov
ing to Hollywood, Cal. She was an,
early member of the Christian church
of Medford, her husband being a
charter member. After going to Hol
lywood she became a member of the
Christian church there, and was act
ive In church work until her hen 1th
failed her In recent years.
Funeral services were held In Hol
lywood with Interment there.
Surviving her are the husband, B.
B. Webb; three children George
Webb, of San Diego, Cal.: Dr. Edith
Ford and Dr. Ora Elerath of oHlly
wood; one brother, Charles J. How
ard of Kerby, Ore.; one sister, Mrs.
J. B. Roberts of 40 Crater Lake ave
nue, Medford; also five grandchildren.

The famous German police dog
actor, Rln Tin Tin, which was
credited with saavtng Warner Broth
era from possible bankruptcy before
that movie concern gave the world
talking pictures, U dead after more
than 13 yeara In the films.
Popular the world over among
movie goen. the clever animal itar,
which earned a fortune In his ca
reer, died Tuesday morning at the
home of his owner and trainer, Lee
Duncan, in nearby Westwoodan It
became known last night.
Death apparently resulted from
the infirmities of age. Rln Tin Tin
was 14 years old, quite aged for a
dog.
He will be succeeded In pictures
by his son, Rln Tin Tin, Jr.. and
the latter will start In a few days
a picture which was to have
starred the elder dog. Mascot pic
tures announced. '
Rln Tin Tin was In several pic
tures for Warners In the silent film
days. Rls popularity Is credited. In
large measure, with having bridged
Warners over serious financial if
faculties, which befell them Just
before they bought Vita phone and
gave the world Its first talking pic
ture. No estimate was available on the
life-time earnings of the remark
able canine thesplan, but the total
Is believed to have been around
$300,000.
He has appeared on the stage, and

the rear of the Duncan home.
A statement from Mascot pictures
said Rln Tin Tin, Jr., which has
been trained for a year for picture
work, gives promise of equalling if
not excelling the elder dog as an
actor.
