At a ceremony, lovely In It quiet
simplicity, at tbe Bocred Heart
church, Catholic, Monday morning,
Mlaa Gertrude Breyen of this city,
daughter of O. H. Breyen of Anoka,
Minn., and Thos. Ingenhutt of Min
neapolis, Minn., will be married at
9 o'clock, Father Francis W. Black
reading the aervlce.
The bride, who will be attired In a
traveling ault of blue, will be attend
ed by Mlaa Blanche Runels, who
will aleo be costumed In blue of
harmonizing (hade. Both will wear
corsage bouquets of rosea and sweet-
peas.
Robert Mlksche of this city will
attend the groom.
The wedding will be followed by a
breakfast at the Hotel Medford, at
which Dr. and Mrs. B. C. Wilson will
be hosts. Invitations for the break

unit, aa nurse, for the past year, has
many friends In the valley, and has

. Members of the San Francisco col
ony, vacationing on the Rogue, are
adding much gality to Medford
events these days. Mrs. Henry Dut
ton was hostess at the Novas' camp
Friday evening at a party, attended
by several members of local society.
Mrs. Helen B. Rutherford of San
Francisco Is arriving this week to be
guest of the Corbln Edgells and 'will
probably participate In numerous
events In the city and country. Mrs.
Rutherford has visited In Medford
during other seasons and will' be
greeted by many friends.
Harry Scott, also of San Francisco.
visited the Edgells during the past
Week and has returned to the bay
city.

Tips On Display To
Medford Gardeners
A charming guest In Medford, who
added much Interest to the recent
flower show of the Medford Garden
club, Is Mrs. B. B. Hanley of Seattle,
formerly of the Rogue River valley.
As a Judge of the show, Mrs. Han
ley became so enthuslsstlo over the
products of Medford gardens she add
ed two new prices to the list. They
were awarded entries In which" th
most perfect harmony between flower
arrangement and containers was ac
complished. The classification will
be Included In future garden shows.
. She also added many valuable tips
to the local gardeners' knowledge of
preparing flowers for display. Flowers
should be gathered several hours be
fore displayed, she sdvlaed, and
immersed In water up to their heads,
while petals are still moist with dew.
Mrs. Hanley learned to garden in
southern Oregon and Is now one of
Seattle's most enthuslsstlo flower
fanciers, and one whose arrival In
Medford Is welcomed by society and
club circles. '

Here From North
Fishes the Rogue
Mrs. O. F. Swigert. Jr., of Portland,
who arrived by motor a few days ago
to be guest of Dr. and Mrs. W. H.
Heckman, will leave about the middle
of the week for home. She motored
to Crater Lake Friday with Miss
Annette Heckman of Hllo, T. H., who
was her gue.t In Portland for seversl
weeks, and enjoyed a fishing trip with
Jier father Thursday.
Although Mrs. Swigert Is one ot
Portland's foremost feminine golfers,
she devotes considerable time to fish
ing and has an especial fondneas for
whipping the Rogue. She ueuslly
brings In the fish aa trophies.
Mrs. Carl Weaver and chtldren of

years ogo. and graduated from Med

Oregon Normal school. For two years
she taught at Sardine creek, and dur
ing the post school year, was Instruc
tor at Mazama, Wash.

Cornish Players
An Item of interest to the little
group of Medford people who attend
ed the staging In Ashland of "Love
and Chance" by the Cornish players
recently appeared In the Oregonian.
It reads:
"What is hailed aa one of the most
unusual theatrical tours of the cur
rent year In the west passed through
Portland this week.
"It passed through because there
wos no suttsble theater, or hall In
which to present 'Love and Chance,'
the old French play of Morlveoux,
with which the company had lust
concluded an 8000-mile road tour of
western states, 'without once hear.
Ing' as Miss Nellie Cornish, director
of the school, reported, "a word about
the depression.
"It is the first tour sent out by the
Cornish school of Seattle under the
endowment made last season by
Dorothy Whitney Elmhurst, whose
backing In England made the pro
ductlon of 'Journey's End' possible.
. "The work of the Cornish school
so Interested Mrs. Elmhurst In 1930,
when hor daughter, a student In the
school, took a company of eight Cor
ntsh students east with her, that she
endowed 11 scholarships. This makes
it possible to hold together a per
manent company of students trained
In the school for road tours. .
"In the group of 13 In the 'Love
and Chance' company, four are Ore
gonians: Arthur, De Huff and Klnert
Wolff of Portland, Ford Ralney of
Astoria and Dethene Miller of Union.
Incidentally the production of 'Tobias
and the Anger Is being given at the
University of Washington by the Cor
nish group, with Stephen Berkey of
Portland in the role of Tobias.
"The Love and Chance' tour began
In Kearney, Neb., June 15 and ended
in Ashland, Ore., July 33. It mode
money at the box office too. The par
ty visited briefly In Portland on route

Rebekah lodge woo held at the sum
mer home ot Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Lald
ley on Elk creek and proved to be a
very pleasant affair with a large at
tendance. A long table and benches
were provided under the shade of the
beautiful pine- trees. After a de
licious basket dinner was served the
guests were entertained with several
humorous readings by Oliver Rogers
and BDer weed.
Horse-shoe pitching, one of the
standbys at picnics, was Indulged In
by many. The swimming hole proved
a leading attraction for the women
and children.

Wednesday evening for Montreal.
They will sail from there August 13
on the S. S. Letltla for Europe, and
plan to spend three months touring
the continent.
Following their departure the two

Olive Robekah lodge met Monday
evening with the new officers presid
ing. A splendid report vaa given by
the visiting committee. Eleven calls
were made and many flowers given.
Carrie McDanne waa elected team
captain for the ensuing term.
After the business meeting plans
were made for the attendance con
test. Sisters Lona Bergman and
Ethyl Weed were elected captains and
Immediately organized their helpers.
The colors, pink and green, were cho
sen, also each aide selected a name.
This contest promises to be. amusing
and the losing side must furnish an
