AUTO. RECEIPTS
E
RELIEF AMOUNT
Jackson county will know nothing
definite relative to the apportion
ment of state and federal funds for
road and other relief work, until the
final figures are available on the auto
license receipts and a close study of
the federal unemployment relief bill
had been made.
The district attorney's office has
been requested to give an opinion
on the powers of the county to make
a loan for road relief work under the
reconstruction bureau. This will be
done as soon as the copies of the un
employment relief bill are received,
Jackson county will also receive
money from the auto license funds,
The first out from this source Is used
as sinking fund for interest on bonds,
and the remainder Is diverted to the
road fund for emergency relief work.
'The amount of money Jackson
county receives from the auto license
money depends on the amount we
pay in," said Commissioner Victor
Bursell today. "And the more that
Is said, the more we will have for
relief work next winter."
As soon as the preliminaries are
cleared, the county court and other
agencies will confer to determine the
securing and use of funds from state
and national sources.
