The third annual Mall Tribune
trapahootlng tournament will be held
over the Medford Oun club trapa at
the Municipal Airport Sunday,
June 13, firing to atart at 10:30 a. m.,
and Invltatlona are now being broad-
caat for the event which In the pint
haa drawn many of the coaat'a beat
"pigeon busters."
Included with the Mall Tribune
. trophy shoot there will be competi
tion for the Cheater Wood handicap,
In honor of Cheater Wood, well known
Proapect, Ore., sportsman, with caah
awarda. The Chester Wood purse la
another feature of the day'a program
and will be shot for In the Bo-target
handicap event. A flrat time win
ner will receive (10 and aecond
time winner will receive the entire
purse leaa the original starter which
now amounts to eia.
The Mall Tribune trophy waa
placed In competition In 1Q30 and
Is to be shot for each year over the
local club's traps at 100 16-yard tar
gets. Any amateur trapahooter la eli
gible to compete for the fine trophy
and anyone winning It three times
becomes permanent owner. The tour
nament la registered under authority
of the Pacific International Trap
shooting aaaoclatlon.
Lunch will be served on the
grounds on toupaatment day and a
great turnout of both scattcrgunnera
and spectators la expected for the
vent.

With th postponement of the bene
fit baseball game to Sunday, June 5,
being given for Mrs. May Kell Logan
of Gold Hill, another tilt haa been
added, to the schedule, according to
announcement Issued by Louis
"Scoop Puhl, secretary of the Rogue
River Valley baseball league.
All misunderstandings between the
Grants Pass team and the other
members of the league have been
cleared up, following a visit to that
city by Puhl and Pat Foley, manager
of the Medford team, who conferred
with Qeorge Young, Orante Pass base
ball manager.
The schedule for Sunday now
stands with an additional game on
the program at 11 o'clock, between
Gold Hill and Hilt, Puhl said. Seven
Innings are to be played, and all
three of the contests may be seen,
with the one admission ticket.
At one o'clock, the afternoon pro
gram will open, with Talent playing'
Medford, and Jacksonville In the field
against Grants Pass.
Due to the rains last Sunday, the
benefit, being given for John Logan's
widow, was postponed, and early in
the week misunderstanding arose
from the Grants Pass contingent, who j
expressed the belief the regular sched
ule should be followed, eliminating!
the benefit games. j
However the conference with the'
manager smoothed over the situation, j
and the Cavemen have stated they :
are willing to participate in the Sun
day encounters.
Logan, -who died recently from
pneumonia, waa employed at Hilt,

playing for the Hilt baseball team.
He was well known throughout the

Postmaater-General Brown, a high
counsellor In the Hoover ranks, ex
pressed the opinion today the Re
publican platform prohibition plank
would be one "to which we all can
aubscrlbe."
Brown haa been classed as among
those cabinet members who want
other than a strictly dry plank.
He did not elaborate his view to
day on the exact nature of the
plank expected to be had. but again
reported progreea being made on the
platform aa a whole and Indicated
an expectation that both those who
favor national prohibition as It
stands and those who lean toward
a change would be satisfied.
