SALEM. May 27. (AP) The an
nual convention of the Pacific Synod
of the Luthern church closed nere
lut night after being in session for
four days.
Rev. D. D. KUtler of Everett, Wn.,

year term. Rev. W. I. Ecic of The
Dalles was elected secretary and
M. O. Johnson, Vancouver, Wash.,
treasurer.

Three new ministers were received.
Including Rev. O. P. Kabele, D.D.,
Medford, from the Nebraska synod.
Edgar D. Blood of Long view was
elected president of the Synodlcal
brotherhood. H. H. Petershagan of
Everett, Wash., was elected secretary.

An order extending time for filing
a transcript in the appeal of Albert
W. Reed, serving life in state prison
upon conviction of the murder of
Victor Knott, Ashland policeman
last November, was granted today by
Circuit Judge H. D. Norton. Sixty
days from June 2 Is granted for the
transcribing and submitting of be
testimony in the trial.
Reed, according to reports received
by the authorities is a model pris
oner, employed in the machine shops
