tinued In force, although In many
cases It la higher than the present
veterana administration loan rate of

Of Interest to her msny friends In
Medford Is news from Portland of
Mamie F. Hendry x, formerly of this
city, and daughter of Mrs. Josephine
F. Clark. She received her bachelor
of science degree at the annual con
vocation of the school of applied so
cial science of the University of Ore
gon In Portland, May 18, and will
participate In the graduation pro
gram on the university campus at
Eugene next month.
She was also the recipient of a cer
tificate in social work training and
delivered an address a- the convoca
tion program, representing students
la social work training. Mrs. Hen
dryx graduated from the Med ford
high school and is remembered by
many here as Mamie Clark.

Lake Creek grangers proved to be
good entertainers Saturday night and
delighted the Sams Valley Orangt
with a peppy and novel program, di
rected by Lecturer Mrs. C. W. Kllngle.
On the program were solos and duets,
Instrumental music, dialogues and
plays. During the Orange business
session, R. H. Seegmlller was elected
alternate to the State Orange ses
sion at Silver ton In June. Mr. Mea
ner was obligated In the third and
fourth degrees. Refreshments were
served by the H. E. C,
