Slnoe dinner Is not complete with
out a dessert. It behoove us to find
some finishing delicacy which Is both
pleasing and quickly made. With the
desire to be outside these days we
must remember that we shall come
in ravenously hungry, so It's a fine
plan to prepare something good, place
It In the refrigerator and go through
the day with the comforting thought
In the back of our mind that It will
take only a few minutes to assemble
a wholesome and refreshing meal
when we reach home. The desserts
listed today are easily prepared and
keep well several hours.
Banana Marlow.
SO Marshmallowa
1 T lemon Juloe
o boiling water
1 cup mashed bananas
1 o cream..
Melt the marsh mallows In boiling
water, add the banana pulp and lem
on juice and cool. When quite cool
and slightly thickened, combine with
the cream which has been whipped
until Just stiff. Pour Into trays and
freeze without stirring.
Spanish Cream.
1 T gelatin
S c milk
egg
c sugar
t salt
1 t vanilla.
Soak gelatin In milk five minutes
then plac over hot water and, when
milk is scalded, pour slowly on slight
ly beaten egg yolks to which sugar
has been added. Return to double
boiler and cook until somewhat
thickened, stirring. Remove from
heat and add salt and flavoring. Cool
and add stiffly beaten egg whites,
then turn into wet molds and set in
refrigerator cabinet. Serve with
crushed fruit. (If one large mold Is
used, Vi T of gelatin should be used
instead of only 1 T.)

poultry review, issued by the state
college and the federal agricultural
bureau today. Oregon extras are
selling on the Portland Jobbing mar
ket at 14 cents, and mediums are
13 cents.
Meanwhile cooler may weather and
less severe culling of flocks tended
to keep the rate of egg production
higher than a year ago along the
coast.
The western storage movement has
slowed somewhat. About 30,000 cases
In storage were destroyed by fire
In California and holdings now are
about even with last year. In the
country as a whole, however, storage
accumulations In 35 cities are fall
ing farther behind last year. Car
lot shipments east totaled 113 cars
last week, or 22 cars above the week
before.

Strawberry Bavarian Cream,

c fruit Juice
c crushed fresh strawberries,
with (sweetened to taste)
t salt
1 c cream.
Soak gelatin in cold water and dis
solve in boiling fruit Juice (drained
from berries), add fruit and place in
cabinet to chill, stirring occasionally.
When mixture begins to thicken, fold
in whipped cream. Turn into wet
molds and set in refrigerator to stiff
en. Serve with crushed and sweeten
ed berries or whole berries.
Orange Nut Whip.
1 e peanut brittle, rolled fine
1 c orange pieces
1 c whipping cream
Whip cream and fold In powdered
peanut brittle and orange segments.
Serve very cold.
Frozen Orange Suffle,
1 o' milk
3 eggs
P. g. salt
1 c sugar
1 T gelatin
3 T cold water
1 c whipping cream
Orated rind of one orange
1 c orange Juice
1 T lemon Juice.
Scald the milk in the double boiler.
Separate the eggs; beat the yolks.
Add salt and sugar, then the scalded
milk. Return mixture to the double
boiler and cook until It thickens.
Soften the gelatin In the cold water
and dissolve it in the hot egg mix
ture. Chill. Whip the cream and
beat the egg whites then fold all In
gredients together. Pour Into re
frigerator trays and freeze without
stirring. This Is attractive served In
orange shells.
Canned Pears and Plntapple.
Heat canned pears with crushed
pineapple. Chill nd serve very cold
with maraschino cherry topping each
serving and plain cookies rather than
any cake.

TOO LATE TO CLASSIFY

beauty to hundreds of visitors wend
ing their way through temporary
paths flowers of the garden, field
and mountain took root this after
noon in the high school gymnasium
for the annual show of the Medford
Garden club.
Th gymnasium on South Oakdale
opened to the public at 2 o'clock, and
the show will continue through to
morrow, inviting all flower lovers Into
an enchanting realm, where roses,
popples and all fair sisters of the
garden are blooming In numbers
which more than double last year's
highest record.
The show will be open evenings
until 10 o'clock today and tomorrow
and for all visitors unable to view
the displays during the day, lighting
arrangements have been completed to
provide them an equally clear glimpse
of the blossoms. Visitors are asked
to use the south entrance to the
gymnasium.
Entering the doors, they are greet
ed by a gorgeous group of peonies
and red lilies, entered by C. E. Moyer
of Roseburg. In tne group are four
varieties, Richard Carvel, the new
red; Jules Elle. pink; Duchess do
Numours, creamy white; and Mme.
de Verntvllle, white with a red
splash. The Ullea, Sibsrlan and
UHluu Um bell a turn; favor red.
An iris display, entered by H. B.
Howell of Grants Pass, whose gar
dens have been the gathering place
of hosts of admirers during the past
week, forms another enticing exhibit
near the entrance.
On the far aide of the gymnasium,
bringing a hint of country life Into
the show, stands a cottage, with win
dow boxes overflowing with flowers
and climbers. The porch Is fitted
with bright awnings from F. F.
Burke's shop, and furniture, pleasing
to all with a yen for lounplng in the
sun. loaned by Mrs. Alfred 8. V.
Carpenter, whose many other artistic
garden and flower arrangements are
a lovely addition to the show.

and other members of the Japanese !
colony inspire visitors to linger for
a longer while.
One of the most appealing displays
Is composed of covered wagon roses,
the first flowers to adapt themselves
to the demands of pioneer soli.
Blooming as gaily as when they early
brought a touch of beauty to the
southern Oregon dooryard, they ap
pear fragile, yet hardy reminders of
the women who brought them
through the hardships of the big trail,
across from the home state.
In the wild flower exhibit. Includ
ed In each year's garden show, are
more than 100 varieties, all Oregon
f.owers. Ranging from the huge
skunk cabbage to the delicate "cat
ear" the list forms an educational as
well as attractive ahowlng.
An outstanding feature of this
year's show is the display of table
arrangements. Ready for tea, lunch
eon and bridge stands the group,
, dressed in artistic finery. Some in
organdy clothes, others in plaid, all
beckontr.g to guests to stop and chat
and admire.
One large table with decorations
developed in white and pewter has
achieved beauty almost celestial.
