mately 6135,000 toward unemploy
ment relief, It wa reported today by
General Thomas E. Rllea. chairman of
the committee In charge of the volun
tary fund. Employee paid on th
baal of one day wage or salary each
month for five months.
At least one-third of th total fund
was contributed directly to civic or
ganisation, by employee and report
turned Into the committee, while caah
payment to the fund totaled 184,441.
This was distributed over the entire
state to county courts and county
committee aa th need required,

The state highway department em
ploye, contributed the largest amount
to the cash fund, or 630,083, the final
report showed. Oregon Agricultural
college employe contributed 113,123
and the University of Oregon em
