than 1400 dally newspapers have been
entered in the second exhibition of
newspaper typography, which la to
open in the Ayer Oallerles here on
April 25.
The newspapers will be studied by
a Jury of three men before being
displayed by the galleries, and six
awarda will be hestowed upon the
dallies ranked highest In typography
leal excellence. Each newspaper Trill
be Judged on the basis of selection
and arrangement of type, makeup of
the pages and presswork. Editorial
content will not be a factor In the
lurv'a deliberations, although each
newspaper la an edition of March 4,
so that the same national and world
news appears. For example, the ex-
hlbltlon will show how the press
of the country displayed the
news of the Lindbergh baby kidnap
lng. over which public excitement
was at Its height on March 4.
