Portraits of distinction leys opp Roily theater HEALTH PARADE LOCAL SCHOOLS The health honor roll parade and program are monopolizing the Inter eats of many grade children in the Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Jackson schools, according to an nouncement of the health nurse, Miss Ruth Swanson. Thursday, May S, has been named as date for the annual celebration and the children are obeying all health rules In an ticipation of ice cream and red. white and blue buttons. The health pins are designed to commemorate the George Washing ton bl-oentennlai and will be given all children who have obeyed the rules of health set forth in the honor rules. The school. In which the highest percentage of children have followed the rules of health, will be awarded the annual cup. The Junior high school pupils will not participate In the health parade this year, but win have a health program of their own, date of which has not been announced. Roosevelt school won the honor roll cup last year and the other three schools are working diligently to take the cup from the last winner. The work, starting when it did. was of tm mmse value in relieving the tremen dous load placed on the shoulders of the local relief organizations. Close co-operation was maintained with these organizations. The work consisted of replacing thirty-two hundred (3200) lineal feet of old 16-inch wood stave pipe with the same diameter welded steel pipe. The wood line was the last section of this trunk main to be replaced It was constructed in 1910 and was tn a very decayed condition. This pro ject was budgeted for last fall.
