trend of the egg market continues
weak, but price are ahowtng little
actual change at any leading point.
Accumulation are being ruahed into
storage In order to save the market
from further loss.
Market for butter continues to
gather weakness generally through
the country, with occasional loss in
price reflected. Locally, the market
Is weak with considerable accumu
lation. Demand for live chickens continues
sufficient to keep the trade arrivals
cleaned up from day to day.
First carload of strawberries was of
even better quality than expected.
Sales were very good around l.75
crate for 12s. Another car reported
di for Friday.
Market for country-killed hORs con
tinues to reflect a sagging tone along
the wholesale way. Sales are prin
cipally no higher than 6'ic. Veal
and lambs are steady.

Plans for marketing the 1932 Tur
key crop were discussed at a meet
ing of directors of the Northwest
Turkey Growers' association here to
day. They reported 1931 shipments
totaled 6.000000 pounds, an Increase
of 1,000,000 pounds over 1930.

ond class Scouts for merit badges in
personal health, wood carving, agri-

carnentery, electricity and reptile
study.
Melvln Miller of Troop 35, Jack
sonville, will advance' to first class
and a star award will be given Robert
Gail of Troop 10. He has completed
testa in five merit badges and has
served as a first class Scout for three
mo nths, the requirements for the
rank of Star Scout.

tions in at headquarters before 5
o'clock Monday evening.

speedboat racer in competition: John
Fierstein of Albany, racing "Miss Al
bany"; Tom Harrison of Klamath
Falls, raving the "Legionnaire." and
Heinle Fluhrer of Medford, who will
pilot "Black Friday."

An order of dismissal of the dam
age suit for $15,000, filed against Dr.
C. T. Sweeney of this city by Wil
liam H. Byars, Portland, traveling
salesman, was recorded with the
county clerk this afternoj... The
order said a compromise had been
reached.
The action was based on an atito
accident on East Main street last
summer. Byars was a passenger in
a car driven by one Kcllom. Byars
alleged injuries and negligence.
Dr. Sweeney, In answer to the suit,
alleged negligence on the part of
Kellom and Ignoring of the right of
way rules.

tising club Wednesday to be "grossly
unfair." Messages of protest were
sent to the Oregon senators asking
them to oppose the measure because

per cent tax on this traffic.
