complicity In the murder of Victor
Xnott, Ashland policeman, last No
vember, la now being conducted by
the aherlfrs office. "Jackson," Paul
MCQuade and Albert Reed, all of
Denver, Colo ars accused of the kill
ing. Reed is serving ft life sentence
tt Salem and "Jackson" and McQuade
re fugitives. Establishment ot the
Identity of "Jackaon," who has
prison record, would aid the search
and enable the law to secure finger
prints. Several reports thst "Jackson and

the automobile business for the past
13 years and was, until recently, as
sociated with his brother In the own

Klamath Falls. He Is a major of the
Coast Artillery, O. N. and com
mander of the Second battalion and
hla moving to Medford automatically
makes thla city the headquarters for
Mr. Abbey's battnon.
Mr. Abbey attended an officers'
banquet In Ashland Monday evening
at which time General White confer
red with National Guard officers of
this district.

CHARRED BODY FOUND
IN BLY NEIGHBORHOOD
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.. April 5.
(AP) State police and sheriff's dep
uties today were Investigating a
cabin fire In which an unidentified
man lost his life in the Bly district
several weeks ago. The destroyed
cabin and the charred remains of the
man were found Sunday by James
Wilson, a rancher.
