the three-day Kitchen Chautauqua
at the Holly theater, sponsored by
The Mall Tribune, closed this after
noon, with a record attendance.
Miss Hester Heath has been In
structor for the classes.
Today's lecture and demonstration
was devoted to continental culinary
touring, as the finale In the "Royal
Road to Romance" via the kitchen
shelves.
The Instructions, which have been
ably related by Miss Heath each
day, were devoted to onion soup,
gtllyas of beef, etrtng beans (Span
ish). Russian salad, Dutch macaroni,
afternoon tea (continental fashion),
gingerbread with tutu fnittl frost
ing snd nprlcot-ptneapple jam.
The count at yesterday's session
showed 1148 women attended the
lecture. During the afternoon, Miss
Heath awarded prizes to the house
wife who had bean married the
longest, the one who had been msr
rled the shortest time, and to the
woman with the largest family, who
did all of her own work.
Mrs. Eunice HUlla, assisted by Miss
Peggy Miller, again cared for the
many children in the nursery at the
theater, and about 60 little boys
and girls spent the afternoon play
ing. Throughout the Chautauqua The
Mall Tribune has received excellent
co-operation from the Medford busi
ness concerns and manufacturers and
distributors of national products.
Several short subjects, including
"Graham McNamee's News." were
shown on the Holly screen between
1:30 and 2 o'clock, through the
courtesy of the Holly management.
