an inspiring talk. Phoenix young peo

Broth" and Miss Elaine Devrles recited
"Betsy lee." Rev. E. Iverson of Mea
ford pronounced the benediction.

ing closed with the Benediction by
Rev. Sidney Harrla of Rogue River.
The Phoenix church served dinner
for the ladles and lunch at noon. Mrs.
Theo. J. Malmgren of Phoenix waa
chairman of the hospitality commit
tee and dellRhted her guests by her
true hospitality and with the beauty
of her home. Mra. Malmgren gave the
address of welcome to the ladles at
the opening of the session In her
quaint and delightful way.

last Tuesday night, has had a notable
military career, and has been a cloce
friend of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Klocker
for years, tha trio having been
reared In Independence, Iowa. Hence,
on hi rather frequent visits to this
city on military business the three

and reunion.
Colonel Allen Is one of tha few
ranking tj. 8. army office, who la
not a graduate of Weat Point mili
tary academy, having started hie
military career In the National Guard
of Iowa.
