4-H CLUB SWINE
WILL STAY HOI
Jaokson oounty will not b u will
represented as uiual by exhibits of
4H pig clubs lit ths Paclllo Interna
tional Livestock Exposition la Port
land, whlah opens nut Saturday In
faot ths pig clubs will not ba repre
sented, according to present outlook,
except that one or two membera aa
Individuate may at the last minute
decide to enter exhibits there.
This la because of the present low
market price of pork. It costs the
local pig clubs 3 per bead to ex
hibit pigs at the livestock exposition,
this cost due to transportation and
feeding coats, and Individual ex-
penses of the owners, which would
not pay the latter to make the trip.
First prise amounts to only S20 In
cash, and the rule heretofore has
been to sell their choice porkers In
Portland Immediately following the
exposition to not only pay their
exhibition trip expenses, but to reap
a nice profit over those Items.
However, the county 411 clubs will
be well represented otherwise, by the
atock judging team which won third
place and the highest Individual
. scoring honor In stock Judging at the
recent state lair. County Agent R.
O, Fowler and the membera of the
stack Judging team will depart for
the exposition the last of the week.
Despite the fact that this team
only won third place at the state
fair, In competition with 31 other
state atock Judging teams, and that
the competition will be much larger
and keener at the coming expoaltlon,
aa they will have to compete with
the stock Judging teams from 11
statea, they atand a chance for cap
turing first or second places.
IN MARTIN DEATH
Further Investigation by the sher

"All the evidence points conclus
ively," said Sheriff Jennings, "that
Martin was slain accidentally for a
deer by an unknown hunter aa he
worked at his traps. No doubt the
hunter, whoever he Is, became pan
