A new angle on the recent tomato-throwing
conflict between Med
ford and Marshfleld people was an
nounced yesterday by Principal 0.
O. Smith.
Me said that although no Medford
high students were connected with
the affair, that under the State Ath
letic association rules, the Medford
high student body Is held respon
sible for any unsportsmanlike con
duct on the part of either students
or townspeople.
The rule, in full, la; "Any school,
whose students, supporters, rooters
or partisans take part In riots,
fights, pilfering, painting or any
unsportsmanlike conduct against any
other school in the association, shall
forfeit all games played and won,
and shall be automatically suspended
for an indefinite period from the
