(AP) Mrs. Laura Potts, 40. was in a
critical condition in a hospital here
today, near death from a shot she
fired Into her own body after fatally
wounding her ten-year-old daughter,
Isabel.
The shooting occurred Sunday
morning while the woman's husband,
Charles Potts, was out of the house.
County officers would say little
about the shooting. Neighbors de
clared, however, the ten-year-old girl
had been Involved In a number of
delinquencies, and this Is believed to
have preyed on the mother's mind.
The shooting took place In the
family's cabin home five miles west
of Gales Creek.
