heait,
Anyway, It was Oene and Walter
In the finals, and Oene, who had wun
the national open and 'also the P. o
A. In 1022. was hanging on to nla
surviving title with grim tenacity.
After getting his feet back on the
turf following the little blow-off at
the sixth green In the morning, Oene
rather put the works to Sir Walter
and at the turn In the matinee ses
sion he was 3 up and apparently win
ning handily.
Then Sir Walter put on a rally that
carried the match square at the last
green, and they bega to work over
time. Tun Itlrdlea
Walter hod slight! the longer
drive at the par 8 first hole, but '.he
ball was lying very clew and alter
Saraeen hod reached the distant
green with a great spoon shot. Sir
Walter hit with his big iron one f
the most powerful forcing shots I ever
saw.
The ball did not tly more than ten
feet high, but It reached the green
3J0 jrards, perhaps mor. with that
big Iron. A half In birdie .
Sir Walter's drive for the tricky,

around the angle of house and gar
den and tall tree, to a pleasant spot
alongside a shallow pot-bunker acros

trees and house In the angle.
: The towering shot caught the fol
iage, but the ball dropped wlth'.n

It looked like victory for Hagen for
one minute. The next minute, Sara

BT. LOUIS, Oct. 2. (AP) Con

thing back If I change my mind.
Now, that's fair. Isn't It?"

Ralph Cowglll has returned from

water the fish are going right over
the falls, not bothering about the

at the mouth of the river forecasts
Improved fishing here In the near
