Makes Unusual Growth An Eng
lish walnut limb was brought into
the chamber of commerce this morn
ing to be exhibited. It measures 12
feet and is the growth resulting from
a graft made In March 1930 on black
walnut stock. The grafting was done
by E. S. Hltzler, It was necessary
to remove this particular limb and
It was brought In to convince the
public of the growth made.

A pre-conventlon rally Is to be
held October 2 in the Phoenix Pres
byterian church at 8:06 o'clock for
members of Crater Lake union
Christian Endeavor, according to an
nouncements sent out by the union
secretary. It Is planned that all
financial questions will be settled
at the meeting, In order to eliminate
them from the regular convention
sessions.
Plans are being made for the
annual convention of the union,
which will be held October 16, 17
and 18 In Grants Pass.
