Edwards was a very enjoyable affair. Plans are almost completed for the harvest festival and barbecue. The grounds selected are on the B. J. Brown ranch at the Junction of Thompson creek and Applegate river at the Applegate bridge. Mr. and Mrs. O. Jones of the III ranch, will present their bucking horses and steer roping as a special feature. Any one having a bucking horse Is requested to bring It. One dollar per family will be asked. Mott, state corporation commissioner, announced here that the Northern Savings St Loan associ ation of Portland, petitioned the com missioner to take possession and op erate Its business. Tho petition was made through the board of directors of the company, and stated the ac tion was taken In the Interest of tts Investors and creditors. Upon receipt of the request, Mott appointed J. R. Callahan, bonded deputy, to take charge of the associa tion until such time as it Is deter mined what further action, if any. Is necessary. Magazine Editor Dives to Death NEW YORK. Sept. 17. (AP) A man Identified as Parker Lloyd-Smith, 30, editor of the magazine "fortune," was killed today when he Jumped or fell from the twenty-third floor of an Bast 88th street building to the roof of an adjoining structure. Lloyd-Smith had plunged from his suite on the twenty-third floor. Mrs. Hood acted as secretary pro tern. Enterprise Grange went on record unanimously against dismissing coun ty officers R. Q.
