Extensive Program
to Be Carried Out
By Med ford Group
An extensive program of recrea
tional and educational classes will
be carried out by the Y. W. C. A.
during the fall and winter, according
to announcement of' plans made by
Miss Dorothy Mitchell, Y. W. C. A.
secretary.
In the recreations department, var
ious sports Including badminton,
tennis, volley ball, swimming, bowl
ing, and basketball will be tnken up
by the young business women. Others
in which .various groups would be
Interested will be Included later.
Horseback riding and cfturch recrea
tions will also be taught.
Instruction will be given In music
with an orchestra, ukulele ploying.
and a toy symphony, as well as
classes for dramatics, public speak
ing, modern languages and church
recreations. A study of world relig
ion Is among the groups named.
Due to the variety of Instruction
all of the business girls are expected
to find some group In which they
are particularly concerned. The com
ing season's activities will also deal
with meal planning, first aid, dress
making, and tailoring.
Miss Mitqhell said yesterday that a
complete list of the names of In
structors Is not available at the pres
ent time, but will probably be an
nounced next week.
The majority of the groups will
meet at the Y. W. C. A. parlors on
North Bartlett street.

Bridge Picnic For
Mrs. Gore Friday
Mrs. Lloyd D. Gore, who has been
much honored during her visit rtere
from Vancouver, B. C. was the In
spiration for a bridge picnic on
Rogue river Friday afternoon, given
by Mrs. H. T. Hubbard. Eight guests
were invited.
Local Girls Will
Organize Business
Club for Medford
i Plans are under way for the or
ganization of a Business Girls' asso
ciation In this city, members of which
will Include the young business' wom
en of the city. Miss Mnrgaret Kerr
and Miss Dorothy Mitchell, Y. W. C.
A. secretary, are making arrange
ments for the initial meeting.
Invitations have been forwarded to
a number of the young women of the
community, requesting them to meet
at the Y. W. C. A. Tuesday evening.

ence recently conducted In Oearhart.

Guy Corliss was host Wednesday
evening, entertaining a group of his
friends with a swimming and dancing
party at Vie Twin Plunges In Ash
land. The young people then re
turned to the Corliss home where
refreshments were served.

For Miss Edwards
A no-hostess luncheon at Hotel
Medford Friday was given by a group
of local misses, honoring v the birth
day -of Miss Adra Edwards. Covers
were placed for Miss Edwards, and
Misses Frances Moeller, Anna Mae Fu
son, Helen Edmlston, Mary Edmlston,
Nelle Green, Lucile Lowry, Janet Wray
Smith and Berte Crane.
Following the luncheon, tlio guests
adjourned to the Fuson home where
bridge was enjoyed during the after

told of the recent trip to Alaska,

The hunt started from the Fuson,
