market continues unabated here. In
fact a greater demand for offering!
In tho California trade started an
other rumpus in the buying price
ftere. Borne of the packers were In
clined to grab the big profits offered
by the lncreaaed California price of
holding down the local price but
others appeared with a higher price
' for buying here and (lipped the
beans.
Demand for chickens Includes all
' lines. There la at the moment a very
keen call for all sorts and especially
so for. the young stuff. All broilers
are In call and at full prices. Best
demand Is for light weights, whirft
are, scarce and find southern favor at
an advancing price. ,
Generally steady trading tone Is
reflected In the market for butter
with no change In current values on
. the open market.
Oenerally maintained values are
shown In the local egg market with
the co-ops quoting unchanged values.
Receipts of eggs continue to dwindle
and there Is much trouble regarding
quality.

noon tomorrow to greet their many

Ivan E. Johnson, driver of the
truck, told state police he swerved
his machine sharply to avoid strik
ing a westbound automobile. His
truck was destroyed in the fire, but
he escaped uninjured. ,
The flames ' spread over about 15
acres of brush and grass on the
hills near the tunnel before they
were controlled.
